Universidad Rey Juan Carlos

The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) in Madrid was created by Law 7/1996, on 8th July, at the behest of the Government of the Comunidad de Madrid. Its medium term goal is to enrich the students’ individual and social opportunities in the region of Madrid, with a clear emphasis on international and research matters. This public university is located in the Southern area of the Comunidad de Madrid, with four campuses at Móstoles, Alcorcón, Fuenlabrada and Vicálvaro (Madrid), where the following subject areas are, mainly being developed:

  • Engineering
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Health Sciences
  • Communication Sciences
  • Law and Social Sciences

The Rey Juan Carlos University was created with the objective of offering high quality education and academic and scientific excellence. These objectives are being attained: it is a University open to the challenges of the 21st Century, promoting intellectual development, advanced research, new technologies, professional excellence and the cultural, economic and social development of our region. The Rey Juan Carlos University fosters participation and close partnership with industrial and economic sectors, in education, research and development. It also supports the European, and more generally, international dimension of its academic and scientific activities, joining thematic networks and encouraging exchanges and co-operation within international programmes.
