LSyM (Simulation & Modelling Laboratory) is a research group that develops its activities at the Robotics Institute of the University of Valencia. The main research and working lines are related to interactive 3D graphics, virtual reality, training simulators integration and other Computer Based Training applications. We have developed high immersive simulators with motion platforms and also low cost trainers for civil applications (harbour machinery, tower cranes and civil machinery). They take benefit from our new cable model, an interactive terrain model and a cooperative environment
with avatars.

The group is interdisciplinary and is compound by computer engineers, physicians, mathematics and graphic designers. Many publications and several dissertation theses have been done by its members as the results of its research activities, including cooperation projects with other international entities.

The group has also a big experience in technology transfer to enterprises and society. Among the most relevant success histories are the use of five harbour crane simulators in the Port of Valencia and other ports of Latin-America, the distribution of more than 550 tower crane simulators in Spain and the development of a web-based simulator for the Spanish government.
